Battery Operated Televisions

I-pod vs. Flashdrives?!?

I have a 4 gb usb flash drive that I take between home, work, school, family, & friends. I keep TONS of music, a few Excel files, some MS Word documents, & a whole lot of pictures as well. QUESTION: - Can an Apple I-pod do all this too??? Can I download music off of my computer, & my cd's too? How about data, or picture files? WHY (pray tell) would I buy an 80 gb Apple I-pod for $339 dollars at Costco, when I can buy a 300 gb USB/firewire portable hard dive for $149??? My "guess" is that the I-pod interface is fairly standard (It's in cars, boom boxes, clock radio's etc, etc, etc), and the "usb connectivity is up & coming"? Oh yeah, with the I-pod . . . . You have a 2.5" tv built right in (That's a biggie)!!! Quite honestly,..... I have a dvd/tv in my car "&" I have a 10" portable dvd player to take with me ANYWHERE I want to watch a movie. Now if that device USB connectivity, I would be COMPLETEY satisfied.

  1. Yes, you can put all types of files on an Ipod, and it can function as a USB drive... HOWEVER, I'm not sure if you will need conversion software (I don't believe so...) to put certain filetypes on it... other than that, you should be fine oh, one thing though, Ipods SUCK, that could undue your whole plan
  2. buy an ipod 80 mb don't be cheapy. :> peace
  3. an apple ipod can do all of that and more. you can save files form your computer and cds if you buy a software that converts the songs into the ipod format. you can buy that program most likely at Micro Center. with a usb flash drive you cannot play songs until you are connected to the computer. but with a ipod you can play music, save files, and save pictures. you can play all your music and look at all your pictures without a computer. but for the files you will have to connect to the computer. if you have a usb drive you cannot listen to the songs or look at the pictures unless you connect the usb to a computer.
