Is there a portable tv/monitor that can play video files to replace a portable DVD Player?

The idea is to have a portable screen to play video files off of a memory card or internal hard drive instead of a portable DVD player or iPhone/iPod.

1. the closest i've seen is to get a netbook for about $300. plug in a flash drive and watch on a 10" screen. both my daughters do it with theirs'
