Direct Tv Satellite Signal and tinted glass?

Trying to set up a dtv hd satellite in my office. I have a portable satellite I use for camping and was wondering if I could use that in my office to get a signal. I have tinted glass, but have a perfect view with no obstructions to the southwest.

1. Short answer is yes. DTV will work through a windows. However, The signal comes in kind of steep. Roughly 40 degree angle depending on what part of the country you live in. Additionally if you are looking to get the HD channels you will have to use the large 5 LNB dish and you need to be precise when pointing that dish. The 3 LNB dish will get some HD but not all.
2. asked about portable satellite dish, yes it will work, but may lose some signal..your handy enough if you can do it from a camper, try it out!
