Will a portable handheld tv be a good gift for my dad ?

My dad is a truck driver who is on the road for days. I want to get him the Axion 7" Widescreen Portable Handheld TV but I'm not sure if it would be good for him since I read on a review it has to be connected to a cable. Is this true? Do you have any other gift suggestions?

1. Well When I have traveled with a TV the reception sucked in most places. Something like a iPod would cool because he could put what ever video he wanted on it, but I am sure anything you get he'll like.
2. The portable TV is a bad idea with all of the different services that you can get for travel TV. This is untrue however if you are getting him one that works through the internet because otherwise the reception is horrible. The best idea would be to get him a iPod if he is good with technology otherwise just get him his favorite show on box set DVD.
